Chantelle Stewart, a Sydney-based artist residing and working on the northern beaches, draws inspiration from the joyful and innocent moments of childhood. Chantelle aims to evoke a sense of familiarity through her work, resonating with viewers through moments of nostalgia. She delights in exploring the simplicity of everyday life, capturing genuine connections between individuals and their environment.
Chantelle's artistic expression reflects her upbringing in suburban Australia, where themes of backyards, bikes, and blue heelers were ubiquitous. Growing up in a cul-de-sac alongside an older brother, with a Hills Hoist in the backyard and a beloved cattle dog named Jessie, significantly shapes her artistic perspective.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Chantelle is passionate about sharing the benefits of art-making with her community. Leveraging her expertise, she hosts workshops tailored for private and corporate groups. Through these workshops, she endeavors to foster creativity, mindfulness, and a sense of community among participants.
Chantelle's commitment to her practice was recognised after securing the esteemed 2024 The Next Big Thing art prize in collaboration with The Toowoomba Gallery.
