Escarpment draws on the raw edge of land - the meeting point between elevation and erosion. Grounded in layered material and an earthy, mineral-based palette, the work reflects Chantelle’s ongoing exploration of Australian terrain through abstraction.

Built through successive layers of acrylic and mixed media, the surface carries evidence of process: scraping, rebuilding, softening and disruption. Ochres, umbers and deep reds form a dense, shifting ground. Rather than depicting a specific location, Escarpment allows the feeling of landscape to surface - weight, sediment, exposure, growth.

At 120 × 150 cm, the work has physical presence. The layered surface reveals itself gradually, offering depth that unfolds over time.

Framing available in white, oak, dark chocolate or light chocolate timber at additional cost.
